Hey readers! Today’s post is a new series that I want to incorporate in my blog. It is called Foundation Test Tuesday. So, as the title says, I will be reviewing a new foundation every Tuesday. I came across this idea while thinking on how I can gain back my interest in blogging. As some of you guys have noticed, I have been very inconsistent in writing contents. Well, this year I wanted to write as much as I can. So, today I am reviewing the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. If you are interested to know more about this foundation, then, keep on reading.

Foundation is one of my favorite makeup products. I believe that a good makeup look comes with a good base which includes your skin routine. I try my best as I can to keep up with my skin care routine. So, if you see few break outs then and there, you probably know the answer (laziness). For reference, I do have a combination, mostly oily skin. I always use a pore minimizing primer and setting spray every time I do my makeup. After all, who would like to have a melting face and looks like a grease ball?

The name says it all, this foundation is a 2 in 1 product. A foundation and a concealer in one bottle. It is a full coverage foundation with a built in concealer. And full coverage foundation is my jam. It has a total of 27 shades which is a bummer. I believe that they need to have more shades to cover all complexions. I picked up the shade Golden, which I think the closes match I can get.

The packaging is a heavy glass bottle with a huge doe foot applicator which makes it easier to apply. It is also great in controlling the amount of product being used. As for the consistency,  it is on the thicker side but it is easy to blend. This foundation has a semi-matte finish.

Probably two of the most important factors in buying a foundation are the longevity and comfortability. Who doesn’t want a long wearing and comfortable foundation?

Before & After

Does this foundation last? Is it comfortable to wear?

I have been using and testing out this foundation for a while now. So, I am a 100% sure about my thoughts and opinions about this product. As any foundation that I use, I always apply my Elf Pore Minimizing Primer. I do swear by to this product. In addition, I also do set my make up with setting spray. The Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in terms of longevity is fantastic. Base on my experience, the foundation holds up to longer hours. I used this at work without any problem. I did see some oil sipping through my nose after about 6 hours, which is pretty normal for me. About the comfort, it is very comfortable to wear. It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey.

The Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer is a win for me! As I have said earlier, comfort and longevity are amazing. This is something I would use if I am going to an event since it is pretty full coverage. I cannot rave more about this foundation. The only thing I wish is that Clinique would create more range of shades to cater all complexions. This product retails for $29 which is available at Sephora or Ulta.

I tried this concealer before it wasn’t the best I think it need more work because after an hour my under eyes start to crease and it start melting through the powder…. don’t recommend for oily skin at all

I am sorry to hear that it didn’t work for you. I have an oily-combo skin and I love the foundation. I feel like using it as a concealer on top of your foundation would really not work because this has a really thick consistency. I usually use it on its own or with a light consistency concealer (to highlight) since it is already full coverage foundation and concealer in one.
