Hey guys, it’s been a hot minute since my last post. I am so excited to be writing again. When Influenster sent me the Dior Backstage Foundation Voxbox, I told myself that this is the perfect time to go back. I have tested out the products, so, therefore, I am sharing my thought with you. I’ve been receiving goodies from Influenster even in the past and this is by far my favorite VoxBox since. Also, this is my first time writing a review on a VoxBox. Before we start, let’s talk about Influenster and Voxbox first.
What is Influenster and Voxboxes?
Influenster is a company that works with brands and consumers, mostly influencers and/or content creators. They send out products from brands to a chosen group to test out the product(s). These are what we called the VoxBoxes. In exchange for free products, the consumer needs to write an honest review. Free product plus free shipping! It’s a win, win!
DIOR BACKSTAGE FOUNDATION VOXBOX
Now that I’ve explained what Influenster and VoxBoxes are, let’s get in to box. Shall we? Dior had recently come up with a new line of makeup which they call the Dior Backstage. There are a bunch of newly released products such as foundation, contour palette, glow palette, eyeshadow, mascara and etc. I had been sent out three of these products.
BACKSTAGE FACE & BODY FOUNDATION (Retail Price $40)
This foundation claims to create a flawless complexion that can be used on the face and camouflage minor imperfections anywhere in your body. It has a natural matte finish with a medium, buildable coverage. Also, claims to be waterproof and sweat resistant. This foundation is available in 40 different shades.
When I’ve read the claim about it being a medium, buildable coverage; I thought I wouldn’t like the foundation at all. I always go for a full coverage foundation. But when I tried this foundation, my perception had changed. The coverage is not as bad as I thought it would be. It is also very lightweight to the skin, as if it’s your own skin but better. The matte finish is a plus because I have an oily skin which makes me like the foundation even more. It doesn’t accentuate my pores and lines. But please take into consideration that I always use a pore minimizing primer in all my foundation. I would recommend applying it with a brush because the consistency is more liquidy, sponge tends to soak up most of the products. They also have a wide range of shades from light to dark.
BACKSTAGE GLOW PALETTE (Retail Price $45)
The glow palette consists of four shades; two highlighters, a blush, and a bronzer. Claims to add radiance to any look that is suited for all skin tones.
I have only tried the golden highlighter shade. I like how the formula is easy to blend. The blush can be used as a blush topper since it is shimmery, so as the bronzer. This palette is a multi-purpose since it can also be used as an eyeshadow. All in all, I do believe that this a good palette. If you can afford to pay $45, I’d say go for it. But in my opinion, there are more products that compare to this without breaking your bank.
DIORSHOW (Retail Price: $29.50)
Claims to have build-able volume and a lash extension effect. It has an XXL brush with microfibers and an air-lock wiper system that prevents the formula from drying and air exposure.
They’re not kidding when they said the brush is XXL. It has indeed a huge brush. Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of this type of applicator. The mascara tends to smear on my eyelid, which is annoying. But the great part is the formula is so easy to apply. In my opinion, this mascara is more lengthening rather than volumizing. Everyone has a different preference toward mascaras. If you like long lashes effect then I would suggest you try this. I, personally would skip this or will combine it with a volumizing mascara.
Here are all the products that I’ve got from the Dior Backstage VoxBox. The foundation is clearly my favorite among the three. Make sure to check back for an exclusive detailed review of the Dior Backstage Foundation.
