Happy New Year guys!! Isn’t it crazy how time flies so fast? Last year was a bit of a challenge for me. New year, new start as they say. Speaking of a new start, have you ever wanted to start your own blog but don’t know how? Then, you’re in the right place.

When I first started my blog, I am just as confused as you. I don’t know where to start or what to do. Of course, I figured out a way and now I am here blogging. Now that I know the basics, I wanted to share an easy step by step guide to set up your own blog. And here’s how:

First things first, before starting a blog, find out what you wanted to write about. This is what you called finding your niche. It can be either beauty, fashion, lifestyle, travel, food, etc.

Now that you have your niche, pick the name for your blog. Write down choices and then decide which one you like the most. This is very important because this will be your brand name. This is what people will know you for.

Settled with your niche and brand name? Then, it’s time to find a hosting provider. Finding an affordable provider is a smart choice. Remember, you don’t need to spend a lot in creating your website. iPage, have a special offer to new customers for up to $1.99 per month. Sound like a good deal, right?

In addition, I personally use iPage as my hosting provider. Their customer service is amazing, you can either call or chat with a representative, whichever you prefer anytime you need of help. This is why I recommend them every time.

Ready to start your blog on iPage?

  • Register your website’s domain. Remember all the draft names you’ve written down. Pick your most desired name to register.

Note that the longer the term you choose the more discount you get.

  • Select how long do you want your term length for your hosting.

  • Customize your plan. You can choose all the add-ons that you wanted or opt out by unchecking if you think it is not necessary at the moment.

  • Enter your personal information needed to purchase your order. Pay with credit/debit card or with your PayPal account.

The next page should show you that you successfully registered with iPage. Once your hosting is set then you can install your platform. One of the best platforms to use is WordPress. Most bloggers use WordPress because of its powerful tools.

To set-up WordPress in your iPage hosting, first, on your control panel click Mojo Marketplace App.

Once you’re in the Mojo Marketplace head on to One Click Installs and install WordPress.

Here’s what it your WordPress landing should looks like. Go on and select your theme and start writing your first blog.

Congratulations you are now officially a blogger!
